Angel Investor & Strategic Advisor
Miguel Cuberos
After 20 years guiding products through their entire commercial lifecycle across six countries, I've learned that success comes from understanding both the technical excellence required and the human dynamics that make ideas work in the real world.
My background spans portfolio management, commercial strategy, drug development, and deal evaluation across Switzerland (Basel), USA (San Francisco), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela), and now Spain (Barcelona/Madrid). I've worked with teams in multiple languages, from mega-pharma boardrooms to startup labs, and seen how the same innovation can succeed or fail depending on execution and timing.
I'm drawn to founders solving real problems across different sectors, with healthcare being my strongest area of interest. I look for entrepreneurs who understand that sustainable businesses create value for everyone: customers, investors, employees, and communities.
What matters to me is building relationships with people who want to make a genuine difference. Entrepreneurs who solve complex questions, care about their teams, and think beyond the status quo.
Investment Philosophy
Mies van der Rohe's principle of "less is more" guides both how we evaluate opportunities and how we work with founders. The best companies, like the best architecture, focus on essential elements and remove everything unnecessary.
This means looking for businesses built on clear fundamentals rather than complex structures. Companies that solve real problems with elegant solutions rather than adding features for their own sake. Teams that prioritize substance over presentation and sustainable growth over hype.
If you're working on something meaningful and think a conversation might be useful, I'd be happy to connect.
why?
Working with entrepreneurs who are building things that matter. After two decades in an industry focused on improving human health, it's clear that the most meaningful advances come from supporting exceptional people who are tackling important problems.
The goal is straightforward: help founders who have the potential to make a real difference get the resources and guidance they need to succeed. This means building long-term partnerships with people who share a commitment to creating value beyond just financial returns.
It's about supporting the development of innovations that improve how we live, work, and care for each other. The best investments happen when you find people doing important work and give them what they need to do it well.
How I work?
Due diligence that helps: Beyond standard financial and market analysis, the focus is on identifying practical challenges you'll face - regulatory hurdles, competitive responses, scaling bottlenecks - before they become expensive problems.
Strategic guidance: Twenty years of taking products through their full commercial lifecycle means understanding what works in different markets, when partnerships make sense over going alone, and how to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
Network access: Connections across healthcare, biotech, and business development that can open doors, provide introductions, or offer specialized expertise when you need it.
Direct communication: No generic advice or buzzword consulting. If something doesn't make sense or if there are concerns about your approach, you'll hear about it directly. The goal is saving you time and resources, not being polite.
Long-term perspective: Building relationships with entrepreneurs who want to create lasting impact, not just hit the next milestone. This means being available for guidance beyond the initial investment and thinking about sustainable growth rather than quick exits.
